Who we work with

In this page:

We are a small organisation with wide-reaching objectives to transform society's response to HIV so we work most effectively by engaging with other experts both within and outside the HIV sector.

Within the HIV sector

Within the HIV sector we work closely with THT and the African HIV Policy Network to co-ordinate our policy work and create joint plans on a number of key issues.

We also work in partnership with a range of other organisations including HIV Scotland, Positively Women, Waverley Care, George House Trust (GHT), the British HIV Association (BHIVA), the British Association for Sexual Health and HIV (BASHH), NAM, the Community HIV and AIDS Prevention Strategy (CHAPS) and the Medical Foundation for AIDS & Sexual Health (MedFASH).

We always seek to share our expertise with others working in the HIV sector - particularly small organisations that provide services directly to people living with HIV and to draw on their knowledge and experience.

Our Policy Network

Our Policy Network continues to grow. It has over 80 active members representing nearly 70 organisations who feed into our policy work and benefit from our daily media briefings and regular updates on government consultations and policy news.

Beyond the HIV sector

Beyond the HIV sector we have recently been working in partnership with the Health Protection Agency, the All Party Parliamentary Group on AIDS, the English Sexual Health Commissioners Group, Medecins du Monde, Birkbeck College, TUC, Liberty, Brook, National Children's Bureau, Shelter, fpa, the Human Rights Lawyers Association and the Equality and Human Rights Commission.

Forums and partnerships

NAT is a member of the Equality and Diversity Forum and is on the Advisory Board of the National African HIV Prevention Programme (NAHIP). We also work in partnership with the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative and the International Partnership for Microbicides. We are members of the Stop AIDS Campaign, the UK Consortium on AIDS and International Development and the UK Campaign for Microbicides.

On a European level

On a European level, NAT is the UK representative on the EU Civil Society Forum and a member of the steering committee of AIDS Action Europe and the EU Think Tank on HIV and AIDS.
