Support from individuals is vital to NAT's work. Here are six ways you can support us.
NAT is the UK’s leading charity dedicated to transforming society’s response to HIV. Unlike other charities in the sector who have a remit for the whole of sexual health, we focus solely on HIV. NAT is also different because rather than providing services and support directly to individuals, we work at a national level to change the laws, policies, decisions and attitudes in society that affect everyone living with HIV. This means that our work benefits the largest possible number of people with HIV, but it also means we do not receive funding from the national and local service contracts that so many charities rely on for ongoing support. So the support we receive from individuals is vital.
We know that in this challenging economic climate the next year will be our toughest fundraising year yet; but with more people than ever before living with HIV and high rates of new infections it is more important than ever that an independent charity is working to keep HIV on the agenda.
You can be instrumental in helping us rise to this challenge! Below are just six ways that you can help raise vital funds for NAT:
Regular monthly payment
This is the best way to support NAT. Many of our campaigns to improve the rights of people with HIV take a time to achieve results. Regular monthly payments help to secure long term funding for such projects. Find out how.
One-off donation
If you don’t want to commit to a regular donation a one-off donation is a great way of helping as and when you can. Remember 80 pence in every pound goes directly to NAT’s core work. Give now.
Speaking to your employer about the potential to support NAT
There are various ways that your employer can help to make a real difference to the lives of people living with HIV, by doing one of the following:
- Making a grant, for example through its CSR programme
- Including NAT in your Give As You Earn (GAYE) scheme and promoting it to employees
- Holding a fundraising event on World AIDS Day, 1 December
- Raising money and awareness of HIV around World AIDS Day by having a collection box and selling red ribbons
Leaving a legacy
Leaving a legacy to NAT in your will can help to provide NAT with long-term support through this tax-free donation. Find out more.
